From "No Time" to Supermom: How Amy found power in making time for herself.
Feb 11, 2026Making Time, Building Strength, and Growing Where You’re Planted
This month’s Client of the Month is Amy Harmon, a busy mom of six who understands just how easy it is to put everyone else first—and how life-changing it can be to finally make time for yourself.
Amy returned to training during one of the busiest seasons of her life. Between caring for her family, managing a full household, and carving out moments for things she loves—like spending time in her garden—it would have been easy to put her health on hold. Instead of waiting for life to slow down, Amy made a different choice: she decided her health mattered, too.
Week after week, Amy showed up, treating her workouts as protected time—just like she would any other important commitment. Those regular, scheduled appointments removed the guesswork and helped her stay consistent, even when motivation was low or life felt overwhelming.
Through Northstar’s periodized training approach, Amy’s program evolved alongside her life—balancing progress with recovery and allowing her to build strength and endurance safely over time. Regular goal reviews helped her stay focused on what mattered most in each season, reinforcing that progress doesn’t have to be rushed to be meaningful.
And while Amy made steady gains in strength and endurance, the biggest changes went far beyond the physical. She gained more energy, improved stamina, and a new perspective on self-care. Much like tending her garden, she learned that consistent effort—done patiently and intentionally—leads to growth. Making time for herself allowed her to show up better as a mom, with more energy, confidence, and resilience. Going from chaos to consistency.
As her confidence grew, Amy returned to running and completed events in both July and October—accomplishments that once felt out of reach. She also noticed the difference in everyday moments: carrying heavy groceries with ease, keeping up with her kids, and moving through life with the quiet confidence that no matter what comes her way, she is strong enough to handle it.
Amy’s journey is a powerful reminder that taking care of your health isn’t selfish—it’s essential. Through consistency, structure, and a willingness to prioritize herself, she’s built strength that supports every part of her life. We’re proud to recognize Amy as our Client of the Month and grateful to have her as part of the Northstar community.
